Method

  1. 1

Take dates and remove the seeds. Make a slit along one side to create a pocket.

  2. 2

Grind roasted peanuts into a fine powder in a blender. The powder will be slightly oily — that is fine.

  3. 3

In a mixing bowl, combine peanut powder, coconut powder, cardamom powder, crushed almonds, and powdered sugar. You can also use grated paneer or khoya instead of powdered sugar. Mix well with hands.

  4. 4

Take small portions of the stuffing and shape into small oval balls — size should fit inside the dates.

  5. 5

Place each stuffed ball into the slit of a date. Press gently to secure.

  6. 6

Garnish with crushed pistachios and rose petals on top.

  7. 7

Store in an airtight container for up to 2-3 days.

  8. 8

Offer to Lord Jagannath with tulsi leaves.
