Moong Dal Laddu

Method

    Wash 1 cup yellow moong dal thoroughly with water. Drain completely - no water should remain.

    Roast dal in pan on low flame for 10-15 minutes, stirring continuously. Roast until dry, crispy, and color changes slightly. No water should remain.

    Cool completely, then grind to powder in mixer. Should be slightly coarse, not smooth like gram flour.

    Add 1 tsp cardamom powder and 1 tbsp finely chopped pistachios to the powder.

    Add 3 tbsp melted ghee gradually. Mix well - add only as needed. If too dry, add 1-2 more tbsp ghee. Do not add too much or laddus will be loose.

    Shape into laddus using hands. If mixture doesn't hold, add a little more ghee.
