Jain Vermicelli Upma
Light, satisfying morning upma using Bambino vermicelli — a South Indian classic made completely NONG.
💡 Add roasted peanuts for crunch and protein.
🛒 Ingredients
·1 cup Bambino Vermicelli (pre-roasted)
·1 tbsp oil or ghee
·1 tsp mustard seeds
·8-10 curry leaves
·1-2 green chillies slit
·½ cup mixed vegetables (carrot, peas, capsicum)
·1.5 cups water
·Salt to taste
·Lemon juice and coriander to serve
👨🍳 Method

If using unroasted vermicelli, dry roast in a pan until light golden. Set aside.

Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds — wait for them to pop.

Add curry leaves, green chillies. Sauté 30 seconds.

Add mixed vegetables. Sauté 3 minutes until slightly tender.

Add water and salt. Bring to a rolling boil.

Add roasted vermicelli. Stir, cover, cook 5 minutes on low flame.

Fluff gently with a fork. Squeeze lemon, garnish coriander. Serve hot.
