Method

    Dry roast 3 cups makhana in a pan on low flame for 4-5 minutes until crispy. Stir continuously. They are ready when they feel light and make a crisp sound when pressed. Transfer to a mixing bowl.

    Add cubed boiled potatoes, chopped tomato, and roasted peanuts to the makhana.

    Add roasted cumin powder, rock salt, black pepper powder, and red chili powder.

    Add green chutney and date-tamarind chutney as per taste. Mix everything well.

    Serve immediately. Offer to Lord Jagannath with tulsi leaves.
